Directions to Yorkby Mas Sadullah. Last updated 2003-04-28Click here to start a message board topic related to this article. People,
For those of you coming up to York this weekend by car, here's how to get here (well, my place anyway) from the south. Get on the M25 Northbound/Eastbound. Get on the M1 North. Stay on it for ages (c.2 1/2 hours). As you get to Leeds, the motorway forks. One is the M621 which goes into Leeds city centre and the other (left hand one, I think) is for the M1 continuing North. Stay on the M1 continuing North. Look out for this fork because you don't want to end up in Leeds - it's a nightmare trying to get out. The M1 North then turns into the A1 and A1(M) - they're all the same road. From here, you need the A64 - it's well sign posted for York. Off the A64, you need the exit for the 'City Centre'. From the exit you'll immediately approach a roundabout at which you need to turn left following the signs for York. This is Fulford Road. You need to stay on it for quite some time. Keep going straight and you'll pass several small shops, Jacksons on your left and The Lighthorseman pub on your left . When you pass this pub, you'll be approaching Mecca Bingo where there is a 'give way' junction. You can only go straight ahead here, but you need to get in the right lane. You then need to park in the parking bays outside and further down from the Edinburgh Arms (on your right), ideally opposite Balti House. Get out the car. You are now on Fishergate. My place is number 30 across the road, 2 doors down from Balti House, just by the traffic lights. Robin - these directions work for you as well. Saxon House is on the right kind of opposite the Lighthorseman pub. Sam - I will e-mail Pele directions to get to the place you're staying at. If you're staying elsewhere, these directions get you to YO10 4AB and you should be able to get to where you need easily enough from here. Nice.
Mas.
